CONTEST RULES

1. May enter up to four images per Class (1-15)

2. Photos must be submitted in JPEG image format. They may be cropped to any size but must NOT be touched-up or enhanced in any other way, with the exception of Class 14.

3. Images must be taken by an amateur photographer who is a member of an ARS Deep South District local rose society.

4. Digital images that have won awards in previous ARS or DSD photography contests are not eligible.

5. Images in Classes 1-11 must be identified by their ARS exhibition names. Grooming the rose(s) is encouraged and artificial backgrounds may be used.

6. Name each digital image to reflect its Class (1-15) and ARS exhibition name.

Include your name, address, home telephone number and local society.

8. ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY JULY 31, 2010.

CLASSES

1. One bloom, HT or GR, exhibition stage, no side buds.

2. One spray, HT or GR, two or more blooms.

3. One bloom F or Pol, exhibition stage, no side buds.

4. One spray, F or Pol, two or more blooms.

5. One open bloom HT or GR, stamens must show.

6. One bloom or spray of a Shrub.

7. One bloom or spray of an OGR.

8. One bloom or spray of a Climber.

9. One bloom of a Miniature/Mini-Flora, exhibition stage, no side buds.

10. One spray of a Miniature/Mini-Flora.

11. One open bloom of a Miniature/Mini-Flora, stamens must show.

12. Artistic Standard Arrangement or Miniature Arrangement: Design must meet ARS standards. Indicate arranger’s name and name of roses, if known. Can be any style-Traditional, Modern, Oriental, etc.

13. Macro: Subjects should be photographed at extreme close range. Photos must include some part of a rose and may include other objects, animals, insects etc.

14. Abstract or Impressionism: A photo having non-objective design, form or content, of a rose plant(s) or any portion thereof. Let your imagination be your guide! Any form of photo manipulation is allowed in this class.

15. People, Pets and Roses: Must include people and /or pets and roses. Include the society, name of the activity, or people, if known. Have fun with this one.
