CONTEST RULES:
-
May enter up to four images per Class (1-16).
-
Photos whether Digital or Film origin, must be submitted in JPEG or BMP
Image format - may be cropped to any size but must NOT be touched-up or
enhanced in any way. (Do not submit paper prints.)

Images must be taken by an amateur photographer and a member of ARS residing
in the DSD or a member of a local DSD Rose Society.
-
Film or Digital images that have won awards in previous ARS or DSD
photography contests are not eligible.

Images in Classes 1-10 must be of entrant’s own roses photographed in the
garden. The roses must be identified by their ARS exhibition names.
Grooming the rose(s) is encouraged, and artificial backgrounds may be used.

Film camera photographs are eligible if submitted in digital format.

Name each digital image to reflect its Class (1-16), ARS exhibition name.
Example: C#1, Jema. Images not named in this format may be rejected.

One bloom, exhibition stage, HT or Gr, no side buds.

One spray, HT or Gr, two or more blooms.

One bloom F or Pol, exhibition stage, no side buds.

One spray, F or Pol, two or more blooms.

One open bloom HT or Gr, stamens must show.

One bloom or spray of an OGR or Shrub.

One bloom or spray of a Climber.

One bloom of a miniature/mini-flora, no side buds.
-
A spray of a miniature/mini-flora.

One open bloom miniature/mini-flora, stamens must show.

Artistic Standard Arrangement- Design must meet ARS standards. Indicate
arranger’s name and name of roses if known. Can be any style - Traditional,
Modern, Oriental etc.

arranger’s name and name of roses if known. Can be any style - Traditional,
Modern, Oriental etc.

Abstract or Impressionism- A non-objective design, form or content of a rose
plant(s) or any portion thereof. (Let your imagination run rampant.) Does
NOT include abstract arrangements.

Rose Garden or Rose Society Activity- Photo of any rose garden OR rose
society activity. Arbors and garden ornaments permitted in the garden photo.
Indicate society and name of event in the society activity photo.

Winter Rose Scene- images to be a picturesque landscape scene involving
roses in winter time or a holiday arrangement using roses.
-
”Before & After”- 3 photos showing the progression of some rose subject over
time. Be creative, the start to finish of a new rose bed; the three most
perfect stages of a rose; day 1, 2 & 3 of a beetle infestation.
